Dr. Erik Klee earned his doctorate in Clinical Psychology at George Fox University. He completed his internship at Independence Health, where he provided individual therapy, supervised doctoral students and medical residents, engaged in community outreach, and conducted research to improve the quality of the practice’s services. Dr. Klee has worked in a variety of settings, including primary care clinics, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, and intensive outpatient programs.
Dr. Klee’s approach to therapy is relational and collaborative, recognizing clients as the experts on their own lives. He seeks to meet clients’ individual needs, while taking into account the relationship between daily experiences and deeper existential concerns. His approach is grounded in cognitive behavioral, acceptance and commitment, existential, and humanistic theories. Dr. Klee has experience working with individuals across the lifespan and with a wide range of concerns, including distress related to work, relationships, family, aging, novel diagnoses, chronic illness and pain, and identity formation. He sees therapy as a means of gaining clarity and direction while struggling with change and finding novel ways to understand and navigate feelings of being stuck.
