Lisa Moscatiello, Psy.D.

Dr. Lisa Moscatiello earned her Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology from The George Washington University. She completed her doctoral internship with the Wichita Collaborative Psychology Internship Program, where she provided counseling to university students at Wichita State University and led inpatient and outpatient therapy groups at Prairie View. She subsequently completed her postdoctoral fellowship at Princeton University Counseling and Psychological Services.

Dr. Moscatiello has extensive experience working with college and graduate students, young adults, professionals, active-duty service members, veterans, and military families. Her clinical experience includes work at Howard University Counseling Service and the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic. Her areas of focus include anxiety, depression, ADHD and neurodivergence, trauma, perfectionism, workplace stress and burnout, relationship difficulties, and LGBTQ+ concerns. She has particular experience helping students and young adults navigate academic and professional demands, identity development, relationships, and the transition to greater independence.

Dr. Moscatiello approaches psychotherapy from an integrative perspective grounded in psychodynamic and relational theories. She also incorporates cognitive-behavioral approaches, including dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based strategies. Her work combines practical tools for managing immediate concerns with opportunities for clients to develop a deeper understanding of themselves, their relationships, and longstanding patterns that may be contributing to current difficulties. Dr. Moscatiello is also certified in Prolonged Exposure Therapy, an evidence-based treatment for PTSD, through the Center for Deployment Psychology.

Prior to becoming a clinical psychologist, Dr. Moscatiello worked as a professional singer and held positions with the Library of Congress and the Smithsonian Institution. Her background in the performing arts contributes to a particular interest in working with performing artists and others navigating the pressures associated with creative and performance-based careers.
