Lori Klein, LCSW-C

Therapy Associate

Lori Klein, LCSW-C

Lori Klein is a licensed clinical social worker with more than 25 years of clinical experience. She earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago in 1994. Throughout her career, she has worked in a variety of settings, including rehabilitation centers, school systems, community mental health centers, weight management programs, and private practice.

Lori works primarily with adults and young adults, including college students and those preparing for or adjusting to college. Her areas of focus include anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, stress, illness, and concerns related to eating, weight, and health. She has extensive experience helping clients better understand long standing patterns of thinking, behavior, and relationships that may be contributing to current difficulties.

Her approach to psychotherapy is warm, engaged, and direct. She draws primarily from psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral approaches, helping clients develop greater insight into themselves while also identifying practical ways to address problems in their daily lives. She places particular emphasis on recognizing clients’ strengths and helping them understand the patterns, choices, and experiences that may be keeping them from making desired changes.

Lori also incorporates behavioral strategies, coaching, and mindfulness practices when appropriate. She works collaboratively with clients to increase self-awareness, develop more effective ways of coping, and translate what is learned in therapy into meaningful changes outside of the therapy room.
